What do I get when I sent an email?

    • In each of the 8 summary reports displayed on the phone within MyCalls Android app, you can see an email button. If you select it and provided you have setup a gmail account, a pre-formatted outgoing email will come up. The body of the email will include one summary report and the call detailed records (CDR) of each call, data transfer and message that were included and compiled to create the report.

    What is a CDR?

    • CDR is the acronym for “call detailed records” though it is extended to include data and SMS events as well.
    • Voice CDRs produced by MyCalls include the following information in an Excel spreadsheet:
      • Date and time of the start of the call (formatted as per the phone settings)
      • Duration of the call in seconds
      • Calendar month of the billing cycle
      • Called or calling phone number
      • Whether it is a roaming call or not
      • The name of the cell phone operator
      • Name of the caller or called party if the name is stored in the cell phone contacts
      • Whether it is an incoming or outgoing call
    • Data CDRs produced by MyCalls include the following information in an Excel spreadsheet:
      • Date and time of the start of the data transfer (formatted as per the phone settings)
      • Calendar year of the billing cycle
      • Calendar month of the billing cycle
      • Whether or not the data exchange happened during roaming
      • The name of the cell phone operator
      • Volume in megabytes (MB)
      • Whether it is data transferred from the phone (Upload) or to the phone (Download)
      • Total volume of all the data transfers
    • SMS CDRs produced by MyCalls include the following information in an Excel spreadsheet:
      • Date and time of the SMS exchange (formatted as per the phone settings)
      • Calendar month for most of the billing cycle
      • Whether it is a roaming SMS or not
      • The name of the cell phone operator
      • Phone number of the message sender or receiver
      • Name of the caller or called party if the name is stored in the cell phone contacts
      • Whether it is a sent or received SMS

What’s the difference between postpaid and prepaid cell phone plans?

    • Postpaid cell phone plans are plans where you would pay all your bills on a monthly basis. The cell phone network would sum up all your cell cost on services used, and then you would get a monthly statement with an amount due.
    • Prepaid cell phone plans are plans where you have to purchase some usage credits from the cell phone operators before you can use their services.

    Which thresholds can I set?

    • In order to better manage your cell phone plan, you would like to be alerted whenever you are close to exceeding your voice, SMS or data plan. This is important because it will cost you substantially a lot more to call, browse or send and/or receive a text message once your plan`s limits have been reached.
    • You can set individual thresholds for any voice, SMS and data plan volume level reached during the current billing cycle. As a suggestion, a good threshold is around 75% of your plan.
    • If the threshold is kept or reset to zero, the alert function will be disabled.

Which kind of alerts can I get?

    • You can be alerted in three different ways whenever a threshold you set up has been exceeded. You will see a standard notification in the form a small icon as follows in the notification bar. MyCalls Threshold AlertA window will also pop up with a description of the exceeded threshold. And optionally, you can receive a text message, provided you agree to get SMS notifications in the Setup menu.

What is the start date of my billing cycle and why?

    • To match MyCalls usage information with your cell phone bill, you must select the start day from which your cell phone usage is measured. This is not the same as the invoice date or the required payment date, although they are related. For example, your cell phone bill may read the following: “Ending August 6″ followed by your usage amount (in minutes).  Using the example, the start date of your cell phone billing cycle is the day following the usage end-date.  Cell phone billing cycles run on a monthly basis so considering the example given, the cell phone billing cycle would start on August 7th and run until September 6th and then from September 7th until October 6th, and so on.

Why I don’t find MyCalls on Android Market?

    • MyCalls supports Android OS of 1.6 and higher. In case your Android OS is lower – you won’t be able to see or download MyCalls. Please check with your cell phone service provider regarding the Android OS upgrade plan.
